Striking warehouse workers at H&M's central warehouse in France have blocked supplies to the company's 23 stores. The protest, which started last Monday, is illegal, but H&M management has still had to go to court before it could direct police to break up the action. The strikers are demanding a cut in their existing working week of 35 hours and higher base pay of around 25 per cent, according to Michael Lemner, H&M's managing director for France. The strikers belong to the CGT union.
