Stuart Weitzman, a division of The Jones Group, has promoted vice chairman Wayne Kulkin to chief executive officer as the footwear brand unveiled its latest expansion plans.

Kulkin will focus on strategic global expansion and other growth opportunities for the brand. He will also assist with the selection of an executive team to support the brand's growth initiatives and develop a strategic roadmap.

The company has also appointed Roberta Lee to the newly-created role of vice president of marketing for Asia Pacific. In this role, she will hold responsibility for driving the development, implementation and overall communications strategy for Stuart Weitzman in the region.

Lee most recently served as head of fashion marketing for Chanel Limited.

In addition, Stuart Weitzman revealed plans for a major store expansion and expects to see "considerable wholesale and e-commerce growth, licensing opportunities and brand extensions, including handbags and accessories". 

The brand operates 100 freestanding stores, three e-commerce sites and distributes to 80 countries.
