The line-up of fully traceable eco-friendly re-engineered yarns produced through the Re.Verso textile platform has been expanded to include re-engineered cashmere.

Re.Verso, a venture between Italian firms Green Line and Nuova Fratelli Boretti, collects, sorts and reprocesses pre-consumer textile waste in a new way that is accredited, fully transparent and fully traceable at every stage.

The materials are converted into fibres through a mechanical process, before being spun into yarns from which knitted and woven fabrics can be made. The 100% Made in Italy yarns can replace virgin yarns, saving on raw materials, costs and environmental impacts.

The new cashmere knitwear yarn has been produced by Tuscan spinner Filpucci, and will be launched this week at the Pitti Filati trade fair in Florence.
