Functional textile specialist Sympatex Technologies has revealed it will showcase its moisture-tech apparel for use during outdoor activities for the first time next year.

The new technology, Sympatex says, offers an optimal body climate for changes between high-demand activities and resting phases. Its functional textile layer towards the skin follows the push-pull principle: Due to a vertical suction effect, moisture is quickly transported from the skin to the inner functional layer where it is stored temporarily and spread over a large surface.

In addition, its hydrophilic membrane is activated by high moisture concentration and provides an increased water vapour transmission, Sympatex explains.

Within the functional textile layer, moisture is only wicked to the outside. The suction effect towards the outside prevents the moisture from being transported back inside.

The moisture-tech apparel will be showcased at next year's ISPO, which will be held from 24-27 January.

Sympatex will also present its new outer fabric technology for footwear, offering laminated knitted shafts that are 100% waterproof and windproof. Climate Technology Seamless provides optimal breathability thanks to the company's flexible membrane.

The leg is seamless, Sympatex says, so it is only taped with one seam at the heel. It features the 100% recyclable "guaranteed green" Sympatex membrane and hydrophobic knitted outer material.
