Leading fashion retailer Ted Baker Plc on Tuesday posted a 15 per cent jump in full-year profits to £9.4 million from £8.1m boosted by an impressive 50 per cent surge in womenswear sales.

The clothing chain, famous for its men's shirts and suits, said total retail turnover in the year to January 26 jumped 39 per cent and women's collections now accounted for almost half of group sales.

It added all its collections sold well during the year and that in the first seven weeks of the new fiscal year, total sales were up 10.7 per cent which was line with company expectations.
