Israel-based seamless activewear and intimate apparel specialist Tefron has appointed Ben Lieberman to the helm following the departure of  Gil Shimon.

Lieberman is part of the family group that is Tefron's controlling shareholder, and the move brings the management and executive roles closer to the company's ownership.

"We are thrilled that Ben is assuming the position, bringing with him his unparalleled experience and knowledge that will help Tefron continue to service and understand our customer needs and requirements," says Michael Gold, Tefron president of North America. "Ben is a passionate leader who has an in-depth understanding of production, development and innovation, which are the cornerstones of Tefron's business model."

Lieberman, who has over 30 years of experience in the sports and intimate apparel business in the US, was previously CEO of outdoor brand Terramar Sports.

"I am excited to lead the management and team of this amazing company, and will continue the vision of being the supplier of choice to the leading apparel companies in the world through innovation and fashion direction," he says.

Yesterday (2 February), activewear manufacturer Delta Galil Industries named Shimon, as president of its global upper market business segment, responsible for about US$270m and partners with leading global brands.
