TexBase, a developer of cloud-based software for the apparel and textile industries, has launched an autumn 2016 update that it says delivers increased productivity and a better user experience.

In addition to supporting additional browsers, mobile devices and the use of multiple tabs, the new version includes a new user interface and incorporates many functional improvements based on user feedback.

The Texbase application is used to accelerate the development and delivery of consumer products that meet innovation, performance and compliance requirements.

In a separate announcement today (27 October), the company named Brad Comer as its chief technology officer.

Speaking on the launch, Comer said: "Helping our clients connect with their global supply chain and efficiently communicate and react to critical information is our highest priority. We have focused our efforts in this new release on usability across multiple devices and improving productivity for our users which allows brands and their suppliers to increase their compliance efficiencies and speed to market."

Comer, who joined Texbase in 2013, brings nearly two decades of experience in software development and technology operations to the company. He will report to president and CEO, Joe Walkuski.

In August, Gerber Technology integrated its YuniquePLM software with that of Texbase in a move designed to help companies simplify their delivery of innovative and socially responsible apparel products.
