Textile exports rose 6.4 per cent in July, the first monthly increase for almost two years, industry officials said on Wednesday.

The Korean Federation of Textile Industry said the country’s monthly textile exports grew to almost $1.5 billion having fallen or been flat since October 2000.

Synthetic textile exports jumped 33 per cent, yarn exports 31 per cent, nylon yarn exports 80 per cent and fabric exports 10 per cent. However clothing exports fell almost five per cent.
