Taiwan’s monthly textile exports rose 4.5 per cent year-on-year to $1.12 billion in July according to the latest figures from industry chiefs.

The Taiwan Textile Federation said yarn and fabric exports by value climbed 6.1 per cent to $768 million last month but total garment exports by value slipped four per cent to $187m and other textile goods fell 7.4 per cent to $173m.

It added for the first seven months of this year, total textile exports by value fell eight per cent to just over $7bn with garment exports down 17 per cent to $843m, yarn and fabric exports down eight per cent to $5.1bn and other textile exports flat at $1bn.
