Korea's textile exporters have announced a double-digit growth rate for the January to October period, the first time since 1988.

Figures released by the Korea International Trade Association revealed that textile exports totalled $15.52bn at of the end of October, an increase of 10.3 per cent from the $14bn at the same period last year.

Of the total figure, fabric exports accounted for $8.38bn (54 per cent), apparel claimed $5.1bn (32.9 per cent) and yarns and other textile raw materials reached $1.3bn (8.5 per cent) and $720m (4.6 per cent), respectively.
