Textile firm Texicom Ruzomberok has moved into the black after it recorded a profit of SKK 16.7 million for the first nine months of the year. This compares to losses of SKK 32.9 million during the same period last year.

Sales climbed 22 per cent to reach SKK 494.4 million in the nine-month period. Exports to Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Croatia and Slovenia accounted for 42.5 per cent of sales and totalled SKK 210.5 million.

Output rose 25 per cent over the period to SKK 504.9 million, of which textile production made up 93 per cent. Revenues were at SKK 837.3 million and costs stood at SKK 820.5 million.

The company attributes part of this turnaround to the spin-off of its energy unit.
