A number of renowned textile exporting groups in Pakistan are looking to set-up knitwear garment units in Bangladesh, according to the All Pakistan Textile Association (APTA).

Investors from the country are being lured by the low cost of production and inflation, minimum wages, recent development of infrastructure and duty-free access to the EU, US and Canada, said Sheikh Mukhtar Ahmed, chairman of the Faisalabad Garment City Project

Furthermore, APTA chairman Adil Mehmood told just-style that hurdles in Pakistan such as high production costs, lack of skilled labour force, high mark up rates and lack of duty-free access are major impediments in the growth of the country's textile industry.
