China's import and export earnings from textiles totaled $31.22bn in the first half of the year, a rise of 2.4 per cent on the same period last year, figures released by the General Administration of Customs show.

Textiles accounted for 12.9 per cent of China's total import/export earnings, while textile exports were worth $24.5bn, up 2.96 per cent year on year, and accounting for 19.7 per cent of the national total.

Imports came in at $6.6bn, up 5.74 per cent, while during the same period, favourable trade of textile products was $17.8 bn.
