Turkey's textile industry has become a full member of the European Apparel and Textile Organisation (Euratex) after it's application for membership was accepted by the Brussels-based group - even though its not in the EU.

The Istanbul Textiles and Ready-to-Wear Exporters Associations (ITKIB) said on Monday that its membership application had been accepted by Euratex following an amendment to membership regulations.

It added that the Turkish textiles sector would now be represented by the Exporters Associations and Textiles Employers Union in Euratex.
