Textile machinery maker Saurer AG on Monday posted a modest rise in nine month orders to 2.07 million Swiss francs from 1.97 billion francs in the same period of last year.

The company cited strong demand from Asian firms for machinery to process synthetic fibres for its full order book and said sales rose to 1.92 billion francs from 1.76 billion francs in the year-ago period.

Saurer, which also makes car parts, added it expects its full year net profit to easily beat last year’s figure of 49 million francs on a slight rise in sales from 2.49 billion francs.
