Indian textile machinery chiefs on Monday said they are confident of making a "breakthrough" in the lucrative Chinese market following their success at a recent exhibition in China.

Dozens of textile machinery makers from India showcased their technology at the China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and were delighted at the level of interest shown by buyers.

The International Textile Manufacturers Federation recently named China the biggest buyer of textile machinery in the world and the chairman of the India International Textile Machinery Exhibitions Society, G T Dembla, said his members are keen to cash in.

"We are confident of making a breakthrough in the Chinese market and are working on ways to achieve this objective," he told the Press Trust of India.

"Many of our exhibitors are enthused by the market response and the exposure they got for the first time in China."
