The textile trade in Dubai is already being hit by delays and cancelled orders as war-wary overseas buyers wait for a final solution on the Iraq crisis before getting back into the market.

According to sources quoted by the Gulf News, the local garment and textile trade has seen a spate of cancellations in the last fortnight.

Worst hit are sea-based shipments, which are affected by heavy patrols, with deliveries been held up by the continuing uncertainties. There have also been delays in raw material supplies.
