A media analysis of the wages of workers in a dozen textile-exporting countries has found that Cambodian workers have the lowest wages, followed by India.

According to the report in The Washington Post, the average textile wage in Cambodia is US$0.32 an hour, while Indian workers earn an average of US$ 0.38 an hour.

China paid its workers in the industry at a rate of US$0.68 an hour.

Elsewhere in South Asia, the comparable wage in Pakistan was US$0.41 an hour, while Sri Lanka paid its workers at US$0.48 per hour, according to the report.
