Talks have begun between China and Chile to reduce tariffs on trade in a range of products and services including textiles.

China's trade ministry said in a statement on its website that Yi Xiaozhun, assistant to China's Trade Minister Bo Xilai, met with Carlos Furche, head of the foreign economic affairs office of Chile's Foreign Ministry, to decide what products and services would be covered by the agreement.

Textiles headed the list of Chinese products shipped to Chile last year, while Chile is China's largest copper concentrate supplier.
