US retailer The Buckle has announced that net income for the third fiscal quarter increased 25.7% on a 17.1% net sales increase.

Net sales for the 13-week quarter rose to $167.6m while same-store net sales, for stores open at least one year, increased 14.3% from the prior year's quarter.

Net income for the third quarter of fiscal 2007 was $22.2m, compared with $17.7m for the third quarter of fiscal 2006.

Net sales for the 39-week period ended 3 November increased 16.3% to $412.9m from net sales of $355.1m for the prior year 39-week period. Same-store net sales for the first nine months increased 10.6%.
