Leading footwear chain The Finish Line Inc on Monday announced the promotion of chief merchandising officer Glenn Lyon to the role of president.

The Indianapolis-based operator of 518 stores said the 53-year-old joined two years ago and will be responsible for all operations of the company in addition to continuing his responsibilities as merchandising chief.

It also announced the promotion of chief operating officer Steven Schneider to senior executive vice president and named assistant secretary Kevin Wampler executive vice president and chief financial officer.

It did not say in the press release who, if anyone, the latter pair replaced.

Chairman and CEO, Alan Cohen, said: "Glenn came to the Finish Line with extensive apparel retail experience and over the past two years has quickly learned the athletic footwear business.

"I believe these promotions further solidify our goal to have the best, deepest and most experienced management team in the industry and will allow me to focus more on overall direction and strategy, planning and corporate governance."
