Leading US-based outdoor apparel, accessories and footwear manufacturer, The Timberland Company, has launched a new website that enables e-commerce transactions for its product range.

Designed by Dimension Data Holdings Plc, www.timberland.com also creates a direct relationship with consumers so that Timberland can learn more about them and better serve them with personalised offerings.

The website also provides a retail store directory for Timberland products, background information on the company, and information and links on Timberland's involvement in social and environmental cause, along with information on how consumers can volunteer and become more involved in their communities.

"We wanted a site that conveyed the look and feel of the trusted Timberland brand and could deliver the back-end functionality of a first- rate e-commerce site," said Scott Thresher, senior director of E-commerce for Timberland.
