American-based sportswear, jeanswear and childrenswear company, Tommy Hilfiger, is in talks with a number of Indian garment manufacturers.

According to reports, it has discussed the possibility of a licensing agreement for the manufacture and distribution of its labels in India with Indian Rayon.

Apart from Indian Rayon, reports said Tommy Hilfiger has also had talks with Lalbhai Group flagship, Arvind Mills and Reliance Industries.

Tommy Hilfiger brands hit a difficult point around three years ago over an inability to keep up with changing trends and expand into other product lines.

However, the label has built up a youth image around the world and the company is hoping to expand on this.
