Tommy Hilfiger Group has inked a global licensing agreement with Italian apparel group Ittierre SpA to produce and distribute its men's and women's runway collections.

The deal will begin with the lines for autumn 2012 and pre-collections spring 2013, with distribution concentrated in Europe , North America and Asia. As well as Tommy Hilfiger retail stores, the ranges will also be available through high-end wholesale, specialty and online retailers.

"We are thrilled to enter into this licensing agreement with Ittierre, which will allow us to broaden our upper tier global distribution," said Fred Gehring , chief executive officer of The Tommy Hilfiger Group, which is part of PVH Corp.

"Over the past few years, the successful repositioning and elevation of the brand has led to an increase in the demand for our runway collections. Partnering with Ittierre is a wonderful opportunity to reach new customers and to further evolve our most elevated expression of preppy American classics with a twist."

Ittierre already manages the manufacturing and distribution of designer collections under license for Karl Lagerfeld Paris, Pierre Balmain, Aquascutum, Galliano, Ermanno-Ermanno Scervino, C'N'C Costume National, and GF Ferré e Fiorucci. It says the Tommy Hilfiger licence is the fifth awarded in 2011 and the tenth overall in Ittierre's portfolio.

Under the terms of the deal, Tommy Hilfiger retains creative control over all collections.

Prices for the men's and women's runway collections are expected to range from EUR140.00 to EUR2,000 (US$183-2616). The first collection distributed under the licensing agreement will be in stores July 2012.

Ittierre SpA is based in Pettoranello di Molise in the Italian province of Isernia, where it employs a network of more than 3,000 people across 150 manufacturers to offer 'made in Italy' production.
