The laser designs can be used for large or small production samples

Italian garment finishing technology specialist Tonello has opened what it claims to be the world's first online image library of laser designs and graphics.

The images can be used for large or small samples, and combined with washes, dyes and finishes to create unique garments in a quick turnaround time and without investing heavily in equipment or staff.

Designed for brands and designers, as well as finishing companies and laundries, users can send Tonello a picture of the garment they want to be reproduced by laser.

Once downloaded, the design can be used immediately. Together with the files for the laser, every download includes a data sheet for washing with tips and guidelines for getting the most from the design.

The shop offers seasonal updates of designs compiled and researched by experts in the denim and fashion industry, the company adds.

At the end of last year, Tonello partnered with denim giant Levi Strauss & Co to develop a new stonewash system that eliminates the use of pumice stones and is expected to reduce water usage, production costs and carbon footprint.
