Apparel and accessories designer and manufacturer Jaclyn Inc reported net sales for the third quarter ended 31 March 2002 were $22.020 million compared to $17.720m last year - and a net loss of $505,000, or $.20 per share.

The third quarter's results include a pre-tax charge of $809,000 related to its January acquisition of Topsville Inc, a New York City based manufacturer and distributor of private label infants' and children's clothing.

Net sales for the nine-month period were $55.898m compared to $61.210m. Net loss for the first nine months was $568,000, or $.22 per share against net earnings of $327,000, or $.12 per share, in 2001's first nine months.

Mr Allan Ginsburg, chairman of the board said that without the Topsville acquisition charges, the company was profitable for the third quarter and expects to be profitable for the full year.
