With Hom, Huber Group hopes to expand its activity in the premium men's underwear category

Triumph International has sold its Hom men's underwear brand to Huber Group, as the lingerie maker looks to refocus its portfolio on its biggest global brands and on female consumers.

Austria-based Huber Group, meanwhile, is looking to expand its activity in the premium men's underwear category, and intends to leverage the Hom brand's position in the French market with key customers such as Galeries Lafayette and Printemps, as well as its international reach in 20 countries, including the US.

Although terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the two companies said Regine Weimar, managing director of Hom, will remain in her role.

Commenting on the deal, Weimar said: "It will really be a win-win partnership. With this acquisition, Hom will open the door to the high-end male market for Huber.

"We will support Huber in tapping deeper into the French and Asian markets, benefiting from the reputation, distribution channels and image of the Hom brand. In return, Huber will invest in our development strategy and will continue to provide us with access to a very competitive quality production tool."
