Two exhibitions offering buyers the synergy of fabric sourcing and full package apparel production are slated for New York at the beginning of next year.

ITKIB, the Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters' Association, has just announced it will debut an apparel exhibition for its members alongside the existing Turkish Fashion Fabric Exhibition which takes place on 21-22 January.

"Encouraged by the success of the Turkish Fashion Fabric Exhibition, now in its second year, with a high demand from American buyers, we decided to organise a venue for our apparel manufacturers and create a synergy between the textile and apparel organizations," said Mr Oguz Satici, chairman of Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters Associations. "This way, we are offering American companies and specialty stores a practical full package service from fabric development to delivery to the buyer."

The Turkish Fashion Fabric Exhibition will feature more than 60 leading Turkish textile, fabric and trim exporters with preview collections for spring/summer 2004. The apparel exhibition, featuring 20 manufacturers, will take place across the street at Cipriani, offering buyers easy access between venues.

The addition of apparel to the Turkish Fashion Fabric Exhibition is part of a major initiative launched by ITKIB in January 2002 aimed at boosting the profile of Turkish textiles and apparel in the United States. The exhibition offers American manufacturers and importers an opportunity to partner with Turkish textile and apparel companies, a critical source for top US labels interested in quality goods, competitive pricing, proximity and full compliance with international labor practices.
