Miln will step down as CEO in January

John Miln, chief executive officer of the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT), is to step down after five years in the role.

Miln, who has held the position since 2011, has been instrumental in the growth and success of the association and the businesses it has helped to develop and grow.

In January, he will be succeeded by Adam Mansell, director of special projects at UKFT. Miln will continue to work with the UKFT as a consultant following the transition.

Prior to UKFT, Miln worked at multinational textiles and apparel companies, UK branded enterprises and SME's in various senior executive board roles.

Up until now, Mansell's focus has been on increasing the membership offer, including overseeing the introduction of a new Retail Partner Programme, as well as introducing the UKFT Masterclasses and running an environmental programme, which has seen UK dyers and weavers significantly reduce their carbon dioxide emissions.

Having joined the textile and clothing industry 20 years ago, he has experience representing all aspects of the supply chain, as well as links to every part of the industry from design, fabric and component suppliers, wholesalers, brands, manufacturers and retail, the UKFT said.
