LaRose will succeed Matthew Mirchin as Under Armour's North America head

Performance footwear and apparel brand Under Armour has promoted Jason LaRose to the role of president of its North America division.

LaRose will succeed Matthew Mirchin on 1 October who is transitioning to the role of strategic advisor, global revenue, after over a decade with the company.

Joining Under Armour in 2013 to lead its global e-commerce business, LaRose was appointed senior vice president of digital revenue in 2015. Both executives will continue to work together to deliver a best-in-class consumer experience and strong results across its sales channels, the company says.

During the transition period, LaRose will continue to lead the e-commerce business, while being actively involved in the search process to appoint a successor.

"Since joining Under Armour, Jason has been a rising star, establishing our e-commerce business globally," says Charlie Maurath, chief revenue officer, Under Armour. "I am confident that he will continue to thrive as he transitions to lead our growth in the North American region with Matt by his side. I want to thank Matt for doing a tremendous job strengthening our relationships with key partners during his tenure at Under Armour."

Last month, Under Armour announced plans to open its fourth distribution hub in the US as the performance footwear and apparel brand looks to optimise product distribution for its growing direct-to-consumer business.
