The US Polo Association has signed a licensing deal with Arvind Mills Ltd to design and distribute US Polo branded sportswear in India, and open its stores in the country.

"International expansion is a key strategy for the US Polo Association brand," said CEO David Cummings.

The US Polo Association is a non-profit organisation that has been the official governing body for the sport of polo in the US since 1890. It has turnover in excess of $1bn and sells men's, women's, and children's sportswear, dress clothing and accessories.

Arvind Mills currently manages a number of prominent international brands, including Arrow, Gant, Lee, Wrangler, Nautica, Tommy Hilfiger and Diesel.
