Belgium-based underwear maker Van de Velde is to shift its product development centre to Hungary, the company's Hungarian subsidiary managing director told the Napi Gazdasag newspaper.

Istvan Marka said Van de Velde's Hungarian unit would also turn out small-series, exclusive items in place of mass production, which is now based in Cluj Napoca in Romania.

Van de Velde reportedly aims to double Central and Eastern European product output because of increasing demand there, and is looking to set up a distribution centre somewhere in the region.
