US apparel giant VF Corp has completed the sale of its licensed sports group business to Fanatics for an undisclosed amount.

The business, which includes the Majestic brand, supplies apparel and fanware through licensing agreements with US and international professional sports leagues and teams.

Fanatics offers hundreds of thousands of officially licensed items via its Fanatics, FansEdge and Kitbag brands, and operates more than 300 online and offline stores, including the e-commerce business for professional sports leagues, major media brands and more than 200 collegiate and professional teams.

Meanwhile, VF Corp, whose flagship brands include Vans, The North Face, Timberland, Wrangler and Lee, has been exploring options for its licensed sports group for the past year as it shifts its portfolio towards higher growth, higher margin businesses.

The sale was first announced last month.
