Clothing giant VF Corp on Friday announced the promotion of Bob Cordaro to vice president and chief financial officer for the VF Sportswear Coalition.

The North Carolina-based firm, the world's largest apparel company, said the 49-year-old was most recently vice president - controller for VF Corp, and will replace Nautica Enterprises Inc's CFO Wayne Marino who is leaving to pursue other business opportunities.

VF's Sportswear Coalition, which was formed through its merger with Nautica Enterprises Inc earlier this year, includes the Nautica, Earl Jean and John Varvatos businesses.

"Bob's financial and international experience coupled with his proven management and leadership skills will be a valuable asset to our Sportswear Coalition management team," said Eric Wiseman, vice president and chairman - Sportswear & Global Intimates Coalitions for VF Corp.

He added Cordaro will take up his new position during the fourth quarter and will remain in his current role until the firm finds a replacement.
