The Vigona Svitavy textile producer in January-September showed sales of Kc204.3m ($5.2m), a year on year decrease of Kc3.7m ($93,632), sustaining a loss of Kc1.7m ($43,020), while in the third quarter of 1999 it had a gross profit of Kc10.3m ($260,651), CTK reported today. Operating profit equalled Kc2.4m (60,734), a plunge by Kc11.4m ($288,504) year on year.

The company's loan capital saw a significant yr/yr decline from Kc86.5m ($2.2m) at the end of September 1999 to Kc24m ($607,378) in September of this year.

Vigona ended 1999 with sales of some Kc286m ($7.2m) and a net profit exceeding Kc2m (450,620). Vigona has a share capital of nearly Kc286m ($7.2m), and in May the shareholders approved to lower it to around Kc200.2m ($5m) in order to settle previous years' losses. It is 63-per cent controlled by Expandia Benelux.
