Workers at Swiss department store group Vogele have gone on strike in protest at poor management of the company's human resources division and the dismissal of a trade union leader.
The workers, in Brussels and Walloon, south eastern Belgium, are angry about payroll errors, salary miscalculation and poor contact between trade unions and management.

The also object to the sacking of a trade union leader from Vogele's outlet in Liege in eastern Belgium.

The strike has been running since 10 October. A previous strike in July 2004 at the company's store in Namur, southern Belgium, was unsuccessful.
