Retail giant Wal-Mart has promoted Lucy Cindric as senior vice president and general merchandise manager of its ladies'wear division.

Cindric, who previously worked as vice president and divisional merchandise manager for ladies' wear, will be in charge of the ladies' intimates, sportswear, juniors, active, outerwear, swimwear, plus sizes and accessories divisions.  

She takes over the post from Celia Clancy, who is moving into the role of vice president (brand strategy). Clancy will relocate to New York to act as a liaison between key suppliers and Wal-Mart, while helping interpret key trend statements for each brand.

Lisa Waltuch, creative director for product development, will also expand her responsibilities to include design direction for all apparel as well as home private brands and packaging.

As part of the company's organisational reshuffling, Wal-Mart's girls division will
move from ladies' wear to children's apparel. 

With this change, Andy Barron,senior vice president and general merchandise manager, will now oversee men's apparel along with baby, infant/toddler, boy's wear and girl's wear.
