Hosiery producer Wolford AG has reported a 1.8 per cent first-quarter sales increase on good growth in its own stores.

Preliminary results reported sales of €24.6 million for the three months ended 31 July compared with sales of €24.14 in the same period last year.

Total retail sales increased 11 per cent, with an 8 per cent growth on the German market, a 3 per cent rise in Austria, a 35 per cent rise in Spain, 26 per cent rise in Scandinavia, and 18 per cent in Eastern Europe.

Sales in the US, the UK, France and the Netherlands were down, the company added, without providing figures.
