The owner of a children's clothing store called Little Lauren has been forced to change the title after fashion giant Polo Ralph Lauren threatened to take legal action over the trademarked name.

Dina Mendes, who runs the store San Luis Obispo, California, was warned by the New York-based label she faced a costly legal fight unless she dropped the name of Lauren from her banner.

She has now been left with a hefty bill and unwanted labels and hang tags after changing the name of the shop to Little Laura Lou Clothing Co rather than face a $50,000 legal bill.
