A large market for occupational attire is emerging in China, according to the China Fashion Show 2000 held here recently.

The demand for stylish, high-grade materials, said Ma Jinfang, general manager of the Zhenjiang-based Feida Clothing Co, Ltd, is led by the country's increasing adoption of international business practice. Feida Clothing is one of the leading producers of professional workwear in China.

China, soon to become a WTO member, has accelerated its adoption of international business practice and is building modern enterprises that will give rise to a large demand for uniforms of different professions, Jinfang added.

In a bid to satisfy the rising demand, a growing number of Chinese garment enterprises have turned to producing professional attire over the past few years, and it is now a rapidly growing sector in the garment industry.
