The World Trade Organization (WTO) has reported a surge in new anti-dumping investigations in the first half of this year, with the textiles sector initiating the second highest number of probes.

Between 1 January and 30 June, the total number of new anti-dumping investigations rose by 39%. There were 20 new textile investigations during the six-month period, the WTO secretariat said.

Turkey reported the highest number of new initiations, followed by the US and India - and nearly half of all complaints were directed at China.
