Clothing retailer Yesim Magazalari has changed its name to SMS Giyim following a decision at yesterday's general shareholders' meeting.

The retailer sells garments made by Yesim Tekstil in Turkey and New Zealand, where it has one store.

Yesim Tekstil belongs to the Caglar Group and makes products for Gap, Banana Republic, Nike, Marks & Spencer, JC Penney, Eddie Bauer, Zara, Sara Lee, Lands' End, Schlafgut, Franco, BHS, and Sears.

Yesim Tekstil reported an 18 per cent year-on-year increase in exports between January and May 2004 to $106 million. It makes around 150,000 units of clothing, as well as 100,000 units of home textiles, daily.
