French ready-to-wear company Armor-Lux has invested in product lifecycle management (PLM) software to accelerate product development and ensure the reliable exchange of data between product development teams and their sub-contractors.

Armor-Lux is a men's, women's and children's clothing brand selling items such as duffle coats, sailor jerseys and waterproof coats inspired by French maritime tradition. The company is a leader in France's growing segment for branded company clothing, with customers including La Poste, SNCF, Carrefour, Eiffage, RATP, and the French army. It employs 550 people.

Armor-Lux, a Lectra customer for over 25 years, has chosen the Lectra Fashion PLM 4.0 platform.

Vertically integrated, from knitting to distribution, Armor-Lux operates three production sites and a network of 60 owned, or affiliated, shops. In the company's product design office, the prototype and product development team produce 1,500 new models each year. The company says its priority is to increase efficiency by ensuring data integrity.

Lectra Fashion PLM 4.0, which integrates Lectra's CAD solutions, will allow Armor-Lux's teams to collaborate more fluidly, exchange data in real time and provide its sub-contractors with accurate technical dossiers.

"Our design office has used Lectra software, and our workshops have used Lectra's automatic cutting solutions for soft fabrics, for a long time," says managing director Michel Gueguen. "Today, Lectra Fashion PLM 4.0 will reinforce the digitalisation of our processes."
