Last month's ITMA international textile machinery exhibition in Barcelona turned out to be the most successful event Datatex has participated in since it first started attending the show in 1987.

Many of the visitors at the event, who were executives and owners of textile and garment companies, stressed that the industry is going through dramatic changes in markets that demand higher quality, faster delivery of shorter runs, smaller numbers of repeat orders and of course extremely competitive costs.

But Ronnie Hagin adds: "This time we had many visitors with a more optimistic outlook then ever before."

Datatex presented its newest web-based ERP with fully integrated shop floor system. The new planning and scheduling tools complete the total solution offered by the firm, which provides customers with a management tool from sales to purchasing through the full supply chain from fibre to garment.

During the 8 days of the show, the Datatex booth attracted over 300 visitors from 55 countries, following the overall visitors statistics, India first, then Italy then Spain, Turkey and Germany.

"During the show, two new deals were signed and since the show we have already visited and have fixed follow-on meetings with dozens of the visitors, something we had not experienced in past shows", said Hagin.
