French department store retailer Galeries Lafayette has invested in product lifecycle management (PLM) as the plaform to support the development of its collections.

The company has chosen Lectra Fashion PLM to enhance its ability to develop its own brands and guide it through its product design and development process.

It says the new tool "is the most suited for improving the workflow and facilitating cooperation between the different teams involved in the product development process," says Delphine Chevalier, purchasing director of private brand at Galeries Lafayette.

Galeries Lafayette Group, whose brands include Galeries Lafayette, BHV MARAIS, Royal Quartz, Louis Pion and Didier Guérin, operates 280 stores. With 15,000 employees, the company has EUR3.8bn (US$4.19bn) in retail sales.
