Privately-owned department store retailer Belk Inc has invested in TradeStone's PLM software to help increase global visibility across its retail, sourcing and order management capabilities.

The Merchandise Lifecycle Management (MLM) solutions will manage the chain's growing private label business, which now accounts for 29% of total sales. In particular, it will unify the design, sourcing, ordering and delivery of retail goods, with real-time visibility helping to eliminate delays in communication.

The software has achieved a 100% adoption rate with internal users and suppliers.

"We now have visibility to all the relevant information on all aspects of the development and production cycle," said Mike Restaino, vice president of sourcing, design and operations at Belk, which operates 308 stores.
