Fashionware Technologies, Corp, software provider, will present Fashionshare® 2.1, the next generation of its web-based communications and collaboration software tool for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) at the 2008 Tech Conference, November 5-6, at the New York Fashion Institute of Technology.

A scalable, web-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solution, Fashionshare allows merchandisers, designers, sourcing managers, vendors, suppliers and retailers to share a single version of style, fabric  and trim information. It enables users to merchandise, plan and assort product lines, manage individual colors and seasonal palettes, source fabric and trim and collaborate on all relevant information.

Fashionshare revolutionizes the way fashion companies work by allowing for on demand collaboration over the web in a highly intuitive and user friendly environment. Whether creating storyboards, line sheets, line development calendars, fabric and trim cards, visual specs or product catalogs, Fashionshare® provides a comfortable look and feel for all users. In contrast to other collaboration tools that require considerable customization and lengthy implementation times, Fashionshare® leverages standard industry best practices that make it simple to set up and implement. Requiring no on-site software installation, it runs on virtually any computer capable of accessing the Internet.

First made available in June 2006, Fashionshare® was developed by Dr. Paul A. Friedman and Sandra Muriel-Colorado, both veterans of the New York fashion industry. Dr. Friedman's experience includes 25 years with his family's global outerwear business, S. Rothschild & Co., where he served in all areas of product development, retiring as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer to develop Fashionshare®. Dr. Friedman is also a professor teaching Product Development at LIM-The College for the Business of Fashion. Ms. Muriel-Colorado was with S. Rothschild & Co. for 20 years, assuming increasingly more responsible positions in information technology. Most recently, she was Director of Information Technology Support at S. Rothschild before joining Fashionware.

Fashionshare has been tested extensively and used collaboratively in the product design, development and merchandising departments throughout S. Rothschild and with select S. Rothschild suppliers. It will also be used in the LIM course, Applied Fashion Merchandising. In announcing the debut of Fashionshare® 2.1, Dr. Friedman said, "As product development and information technology people with extensive fashion industry experience, we developed Fashionshare to solve the communications and collaboration challenges of managing product information. At S. Rothschild and with its supply chain partners, we have been able to fine-tune our product to make it the premier collaboration tool. Fashionshare® has eliminated many of the barriers that existed between manufacturing companies and their suppliers, business partners and customers to help manufacturers deliver quality products on time and within budget-efficiently and cost effectively."
