Men's trouser maker Louis Raphael is modernising its IT platform with a new enterprise software solution to manage its product development, sourcing, supply chain management, order fulfilment and retail collaboration processes.

The FashionManager tool from RLM Apparel Software Systems has been implemented at its Brisbane, California headquarters and replaces a 17-year-old business system.

As well as gaining new capabilities, Louis Raphael expects the system - which includes Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Financial Management Software (FMS) modules - to increase efficiencies and streamline business processes for more than 150 employees and vendor partners.

"As the fashion industry continues to grow more competitive, we want to make sure that we are positioned to seize the opportunities of an economic recovery," explains Harry Ji, vice president of information technology.

The company also expects its Asian supply chain partners to benefit as it becomes easier and more efficient to access purchase orders, print labels, and perform many other supply chain tasks directly in the system.

Louis Raphael designs, manufactures, imports, wholesales and distributes to more than 8,000 retail doors in the US and Canada under the brand names Louis Raphael, Luxe, Rosso and Braggi. It also supplies various private labels for individual retailers.
