PLM software developer Visual 2000 International is unveiling the fifth generation of its Visual S fashion lifecycle management solution next week in New York.

The S-Edition, which will be formally launched at the NRF 101st Annual Convention and Expo on 16 January, claims to be the first fashion PLM solution to fully leverage Microsoft Silverlight 5 development tools and the Windows Azure cloud platform.

Among its features are drag-and-drop design and storyboard capabilities, multi-level line planning tools, digital asset management with file streaming, integrated Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards and advanced workflow management.

Describing it as a “major milestone” for fashion PLM, Visual 2000 vice president of research and development Charles Benoualid said: “In addition to being our most configurable and easy-to-use system ever, it gives our customers the freedom to securely implement either in-house or on the Microsoft cloud without the usual IT hassles of deploying across multiple operating systems and browsers.”
