German company Bültel International Fashion Group (Bueltel) has invested in a new PLM system to streamline processes and improve visibility as it moves into a new phase of growth and expansion.

From 2020 onwards Bueltel will manage the European license to design and produce all products for the Camel Active brand, putting pressure on its existing systems. As a result, it has selected Centric Software's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution.

Bueltel also produces fashion for men and women under the Calamar and Hattric brands, and has more than 2,000 employees worldwide, as well as its own production facilities in Vietnam and the Philippines.

"We had a previous PLM project that failed to get off the ground, and teams mainly relied on Excel and messaging apps to collaborate," says Carsten Hirche, IT director and group CIO at Bueltel. "Processes were not harmonised and defined. We are also migrating our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) from a legacy solution, redesigning our supply chain infrastructure and setting up a new online distribution channel. We needed a flexible PLM solution that could be integrated with our new ERP solution and other systems."
